Kids Hope USA

The mission of Kids Hope is to provide opportunities for volunteers from our congregation to show Christ’s love to the children of Yorktown by mentoring with elementary age students. The children come from a variety of backgrounds. We give hope and encouragement to the students to help them succeed academically, emotionally, and socially. We are role models of good citizenship and a witness for Christ.

Where

We mentor at Pleasant View Elementary (kindergarten through second grade) and Yorktown Elementary (third through fifth grade).  We gather together all the kids and mentors twice a year for a Christmas party and an end of the school year party in May.

When

A mentor meets for one hour with the child weekly at the school. It is up to the mentor to decide which day of the week.

How To Get Involved

We welcome men and women ages 18 and older to participate in our ministry. A mentor needs to be a regular attender or a member of New Life. A background check, interview, and training are necessary in order to begin mentoring.
